I've always been fascinated by it. The wide angles, the long shots, the locales, the backgrounds, the movement. I'm talking about cinematography blended with elegant art-direction. There is an unending list of movies that I can quote with exceptional work from the cinematographers.
'Khuda Jaane', shot at exotic locales in Rome and Italy is a recent example. Watch the song on the big screen and you'll realise how great camerawork enhances the pristine visual effect. You cannot ignore the awesome editing work in between the shots either. But of course, more other reasons to watch another 'good' movie.
I'm too far from becoming a cinematographer, but my next shot would be a Nikon D60.
